Yeah, sure - count me in... How on earth are you going to find a time when nobody participating is online?

And is it to be in live 'real time' type thing? And will you be as annoying as that insufferable Mr Tarrant?

Hey I don't know, It just came to me that this is what H2G2 needs, thats why I suggest that questions are asked by whoever is on-line when a answer is given, or correct one, or whatever, hey lets see what happens, it could be fun or not, but then that is what H2G2 is all about........is that your final answer?
Going off-line the up market quiz show University Challenge is about to start. See ya.

I've just discovered this weird world, and this seems like a way to 'get involved'. I'll play. Just please don't be as condescending as Mr Paxman when I get it wrong.

I'd like to register as well, even tho I'm not blue. Is this allowed or do I need to be blue too?

I'm not blue, I'm black. Or white at times. But I'll play too.

OK all, thanks for the interest, I was going to start on the Weekend at a early hour, but I think a named hour for the first question.
9:00 AM GMT on Saturday 13 November, I shall place the first question on a new thread here:
http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=26250&thread=27136
The first question will be one of those ones where you have to place the 4 options in order.
Subsequent questions will get harder. I honestly don't know how this will work out......will just have to wing it......once someone has got a question right feel free to cheer.......or even set the next question.......the prizes I believe go €100, €200, €500, €1000, €2000, €4000, €8000, €16000, €32000, €125000, €250000, €500000, and €1million. We will play in virtual euros after all even in real life it is virtual (that joke only works in Eurpope I'm afraid).
BTW I will be most disapointed if the questions get too serious, and as we are where we are a few (but not all) can be from the work of DNA.
Any suggestions between now and Saturday as to how this can be made to work and be fun gratefully recieved.
Have Fun
Chris
DOWN WITH EUROPE!!!
Bluebottle Posted Nov 9, 1999
I'm sorry, but I am a Euro-sceptic, so if I play, can I play for virtual £s instead??? Besides, I can't type the E on my computer...

Frizzychick Posted Nov 9, 1999
None of Mr Hawke's pound signs worked for me - so if we call them E's it would be easier - no silly symbols necessary... Just a suggestion.

Bluebelle Posted Nov 10, 1999
Just to clarify - the funny square things are the Euro sign (could cause headaches Europe-wide if anyone else has computers like mine that use it when it's too igorant to use the character I really want) and I can get it like this... OK, I can't. How about this: €. There. Copied it from Chris' post - Ha.
The question of currency raises the question - what's a millionaire? Of course, if we use Euros, we can only win £641800 - not quite a million is it? And if we played for a million Belgian francs, or even Spanish pesetas, our question master would save himself an awful lot of virtual money.
Not one to be greedy, £641800 is quite enough for me at the moment.

And what's wrong with Australian dollars?? They have the easily-accesible '$' sign, and are quite tasty too!

What about American dollars?

We need a new currency
{fanfare}
ALTARIAN DOLLARS!
However, 30 alterian dollars is enough for a hitchhiker for a day, so I make it roughtly the same as a Euro.
(BTW: how do you spell alterian? I've nicked it from h2g2 the book)
