What the hell is a life line?

On the UK tv show, you get lifelines. For a question, you can ask a friend their opinion, you can have 2 choices removed so you have a 50/50 chance of getting the question right, you can ask the audience's opinion.

Of course in here ask the audience is really the same as ask a friend, as we are all friends together. We shall see.
