I'm not really here Posted Mar 1, 2007
Ok, I'm a definite as I will be calling the Plume to book some space for my little camper as soon as it's a reasonable time to phone a pub. As long as they're not all booked up for Easter already! I may well hang around until Thursday morning if they have space, as I am off to Somerset for the actual Easter weekend, but I don't expect to be entertained all of that time.

Oh, I should add that I will have a 12 year old with me so won't be able to do much carousing in pubs, but most of the plans for the weekend seem to be dog and/or child friendly, as long as people don't mind a 12 year old being there. He'll have plenty to enterain him so he won't be a nuisance. Well, not too much anyway. I can always lock him in the camper.

The pub is both dog and child friendly If J gets tired on the walk, there's an easy short-cut that avoids the mire, so we can even adjust the walk to suit if necessary. But the mire is tremendous fun, especially if you're 12!

Oh, and if you do need any entertaining, I can at least point you in the direction of a few interesting places, and there's a cracking wildlife garden at a hotel in Torquay that might be worth a visit. I might even have an extra day off in the week, but I won't know that for sure until the day before the Meet.

That would be great! I've booked up at the Plume, so I'm coming whatever happens!
Beauty and I have done six mile walks, J not quite so long (mainly four) but as we get to stop for lunch he should be ok. I'll make him practice before we come. I'll have a second dog as well, which should make things interesting for me!

Fantastic I take it Argyle are away that week, then...? It would be great to see you, I haven't managed to meet up with any 'local' Researchers yet. I'm still hoping Parferris and/or Paff might make it, but no replies from them yet.
I've added you as a possible, and also cactuscafe, who will also have the novelty of a short distance to travel for a Meet if she makes it

Well Princetown is a pretty easy drive from Plymouth. Most likely outcome is I will join you folks for dinner and a pint on Saturday night I think.

Well I'd love to be there. However...
Did my back in a couple of weeks ago, so not been doing any of the following: (a) working (b) hootooing (c) walking (d) standing up (e) sitting down. When I saw the I was thinking 2-3 days. said 2-3 weeks at best, 5-6 at worst.
So, Friday 30th, I'll either be well and getting off the plane at Exeter at 6:30pm, or I'll be grumpy and lying down 20 miles away in Hatherleigh.
I guess that's a 'pencil me in' then, for part(s) of the weekend. I would most likely go back and kip in my own bed (particularly with the dodgy back) and I may well bring one/all of the nippers/missus/dog so would also appreciate nipper/dog friendly stuff. (Eldest nipper is one year older than J).
So pencil me in and I'll keep you posted.
Paff

I really hope that you can make it, at least some of the time!

I hope so too, Paff! It would be great to meet up with you
The whole weekend should be nipper and dog friendly, so no problems there

Any decisions from the waverers? I'm planning to book and pay for the tent space for myself and Mr Ashman tomorrow night, but it would be great to know if we're meeting anyone else and if so, when
