You know, they're changing the design slightly of , so I am waiting to see who it is who protests against the new designs first.

They are?
Do we know any more specific date for the big change? BB, you're an ACE, would you happen to know?
Oh - and what's a Gnu?
*sips tea*

JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?) Posted Nov 6, 2000
Greeting Bluebottle! How are you? Maybe you could fix me up with a cup of tea, I seem to have drunk the last one all up...
Well, let's not take the sorrows ahead of time... Maybe noone will protest the changes in the original smilieys? We (the researchers) are a load of nice, polite people.. usually at least...
I'm looking forward to it all anyway...

I've been busy working on my 2,500 word essay so I can't remember off hand when the smileys are coming up. But if I were you, I'd see:

although you probably have already.
Oh, and a gnu is an animal, and quite an odd one at that.

Bluebottle: Well, I know what 'someone' thinks...
Gnu's are a rare breed indeed. I have a friend who, for some reason, must say "woooo" everytime the word "gnu" is mentioned.... Resembles horses in an odd way, don't they? Or maybe the teacher in the "The Wall"-video...

BB, I know Gnu is an animal, but are YOU really that kind of animal, or what does it stand for in your name?

Bluebottle Posted Nov 6, 2000
Well, one day I was walking along the H2G2 Road and I became a Guru. And my first reaction was "being a Guru is all very well, but I'd rather be a Gnu". So I've decided that to keep myself happy, I'm both.

Bumblebee Posted Nov 6, 2000
I just came to think about this cartoon I saw:
In an alley, sign over the door "Dyslectics Anonymous"
Two men with their hands in the air: "Look out, he's got a gnu!"
And there is an other man there pointing a gnu at them....

Hi One-Eye!
Bye One-Eye!
I wonder what the Department of Health thinks of his laboratory...
The Gnu really is a fantastic animal. Should be sainted. Who came up with the name, anyway? Gnu. Gnuuuuhhh! It's more a sound than a name...

Bumblebee Posted Nov 6, 2000
That's right JAR
Gnu is called gnu on account of the sound it makes!
(I found out because that was one of the questions in a previous pub-quiz!)
It's amazing what you can find out searching the web!
