Yes JAR, it's raining in Stockholm too...
Bee, I've been learning as I go too, and look where it got me - a controller - oh my God! How did that happen? And with no formal education...
...but I'll tell you it sure was scary when we had 2 auditors here a whole day, going through EVERYTHING to check we were doing it right - phew!

JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?) Posted Oct 24, 2000
LOL! That's allmost the same as me.. I too work with accounting, allthough I really haven't got a clue how the financial rules work... Maybe we're just born to it?
*thinks about it for a while*
That would be horrible, wouldn't it....being born to w*rk with numbers....?

JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?) Posted Oct 24, 2000
A controller? What exactly is that? I know you're working at a hotel, but that's about it....
And now I begin wondering what the deal with education really is.. Everyone goes on and on about the importance of education, yet here we are, uneducated and holding perfectly nice jobs... (Except I really hate mine, and will quit at the end of the year....)

...but that's how I got into it - never had any trouble with numbers - and they get stuck in my head too - when I grow old and sit in my rocking chair I'll be mumbling account numbers, company numbers and so on...
...but my Flamenco teacher says that I'm good at rhythm patterns BECAUSE I've got a mathematical mind - she is convinced numbers and rhythms are linked to each other...

Controller - that's like 'ekonomichef' but not quite at the top, because we have HQ handling some of the rutins...

JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?) Posted Oct 24, 2000
Well, I guess she is somewhat right. Mathematics and music is closely related... I know very little of music, but I assume understanding of numbers gives some understanding of (I have a hard time finding the words here...) circular motions, pulses, rythms... Argh! You know what I mean don't you? Please?
Perhaps I can explain it during the meet, when I have a pen and napkins available...
Amazing how much can be solved with a napkin.

...surrounded by waiters, bistro-looking interior...
So, can I put you up on the Who's coming to the Scandinavin Meet Up-list?

Bumblebee Posted Oct 24, 2000
What a funny coincidence
Anyway it could have been worse; we could have been hairdressers or telephonecleaners...

*jingle*
Hi everyone! IIEM, latte please.
Seems to be raining everywhere today, huh?
Lavalamp
JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?) Posted Oct 24, 2000
T: Oh yes, put me up please!
Telephonecleaners are very important. They keep the germs away from our phones!
And rain is .. rain. (Oh, yes I wish it would rain down, over meeee. Ooohh yes I wish it would rain, rain down over me![Phil Collins. Sick man])

OK, JAR!
I always liked the song:
"I am dancing naked in the rain..."
Imagine yourself dancing, soft dark African night, warm light summer rain, feeling it all over you...
Lavalamp
Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Oct 24, 2000
...or the song were you don't give a d*n about getting soaking wet:
"I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain, what a glorious feeling..."
Any more rain songs?

I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain
coming down on a sunny day
And whether you all believe it or not, the sun just came out here!
