Mornin' JAR!smiley - smiley

's been fine thanks! Had the worst hangover yesterday...
Fine now, just a bit tired. U?

What should've been wrong with the coffee?

I just had a feeling.... something is odd with the IIEM. I don't know, probably nothing. Just a hunch. I think maybe it's been tampered with...

Anyways, no hangover this time around. Lucky me eh? Tired however, is the right word. I was playing dungeons and dragons 'till late yesterday. Didn't really get any sleep. Stupid stupid me.

*sips coffee, carefully, like he should be able to taste it if someone had been opening the IIEM without permission*

You played AD&D? I used to do that too, but we're over to playing "Vampyre - The Masquerade".

BB, could I have a c)_( please?smiley - smiley

Dungeons & Dragons *nostalgic sigh*

I remember playing that with some big books in English (hadn't been translated into Swedish yet) weirdly shaped dice and pencil and paper - it was all very new then... must have been in the early eighties..

One of my best friends' brother was game leader - he had a very twisted sense of humour. When we were attacked by orchs and sent up a prayer for help - any kind of help - he supplied us with a giant banana-mustard pizza...smiley - smiley We spent a lot of time ROFLsmiley - bigeyes

Actually I played D&D. They (Evil Wizards of the Coast, owners of T$R) have released some kind of AD&D 3rd edition. Among other things, they removed the "A" from the name of the game. And the artwork is better. smiley - smiley
I have long wanted to play Vampire, but we just haven't gotten around to it. There is a guy who has the most important books, and he's been planning a campaign. However, he's been planning for over a year now, so I'm getting a bit impatient. From what I've read, it's a great game. I love the idea of playing the monster who doesn't want to be a monster. smiley - bigeyes And of course drinking the blood of fair maidens...
*realizes he's not helping the reputation of roleplayers, JAR decides to stop there*
Been playing long?

Titania: LOL!!

*can't come up with anything more suitable to say about a gigant banana-mustard pizza*

Hi Titania! How are you?

JAR, we decided to throw it over the orchs, upside down - and it worked! They got stuck in the cheese, so we just jumped all over the pizza perforating it with our swords...

Mornin T! smiley - smiley

Didn't see you over there!
How are ya?

JAR; I've been playing for about 4 years. Just recently started playing vampire, after making a pit stop with "Call of Chtulu" which wasn't that great. Where D&D is seeking hack'n'slash and Vampire is avoiding hack'n'slash, "Cthulu" was neither...
Give your gameleader good time to get into Vampire, I think it's the RPG that demands most from the GL, as one of the rules are that there are no rules... smiley - smiley

Giant, banana-mustard, pizza, eh...
I can see how that would scare of any orc.. smiley - smiley

JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?)

My experience with Call of Cthulu was something else entierly. We were scared witless every second of the session (unfortunatly our GM moved overseas a few weeks after our first session...he was a great GM). But I guess that's up to the players and GM. We never considered beating the strange apparition we were up against. Our goal was survival, and our foes were stuff we never knew existed.

In vampire, I imagine the real foe is yourself. That's a challenge!

And well, AD&D _is_ a bit hack 'n Slash, but I like it. It really can be anything you want it to be... The current campaign I'm running is set in a very violent city, but somehow that has lead the group (that I thought would meet violence with violence, consiting of a Barbarian, a Cleric of Vengance, a Paladin and a very sick, twisted Conjurer) to become very carefull and striking alliances wherever they can. One battle every four sessions on avarage is not what I call hack 'n slash!

Did I just beat my own argument? Darn. smiley - winkeye

*sips coffee, now fairly certain it's not poisoned*

You're probably right 'bout Cthulu. Our GM was a bit half-hearted...

And you are, of course, right about D&D. It can be anything you want it to be, but the rules are, at least in the 2nd Ed, which I'm playing, a bit too stiff for my liking. Vampire kicks ass!

So T, you still up for that mini-meet? Only problem is, I don't exactly know when I'll be in Stockholm. I'm taking a plane from Gardermoen at 19.30, so I guess I'll arrive at my hotel about nine-ninethirty.

Hiya Bumble!smiley - smiley

I'm leaving Wednesday 25th (October), with a flight from Arlanda (was that correct?) 18.30, so we could do it Tuesday if that's better.

Well guys, I'll be leaving you for a couple of hours, off to a meeting (what a bore...), so I'll see y'all later!
