Don't worry about Diogenes, Odra, I'm sure he wouldn't go far. He could be in... say do you inline skate? Garius built the neatest tunnel in between here and the atelier. It has a bend in it, but the tunnel is nearly circular, so you could bank off the wall.

Downstairs to the basement, on the way to the storeroom. I need to make a sign, but the fact that a bright shiny new tunnel is there will give you the clue. You go through the tunnel and finally you'll come to a left, elevator. Ground floor is CLI, but I don't know whether access is unrestricted. First floor takes you to the ell of hallways at the atelier. I hope this tempts you to visit more frequently. And now you have to visit Styx, and probably let him snub you once

I heard about the tunnel. Sounds great. I love the fact that there are vertical air tubes from the top of it to let in light and air from the forest during the day.

You're right Redbeard, the airshafts keep my claustrophobia at bay and it's an ecologically sensible thing to do. But I have a childhood love of forest trails. I remember trails in Maine where pine roots practically made stairways in places, and the staghorn moss grew all over the place... *sighs and orders another milky coffee from the IIEM*

Hi, Joanna! I agree Lil.. I love forest trails. I'm a big fan of hiking, and something about being in the trees is magical. Even in the middle of my town, we have a nice 20 mile tree-lined trail that helps make you feel like you're out of the stuff of the city. I recently posted info about it at Secret Walks http://www.h2g2.com/F40017?thread=51464&post=488147 My guests last night stayed until 3:30 am, (but it was fun, and one of them is going to do some photography collaboration with me) and I had to get up to do some work this morning, so I may end up dozing off occasionally today at this table :-)

Ahh, the Sarcasterizer. An amusing one, yes...
A friend of mine's absolute favorite on that site is the Self-Made Critic's movie reviews. lt's rather frightening, knowing Adam and reading the reviews, because (although the grammar is cleaned up), the boy honestly could have written them -- same storytelling voice, same attitudes. l suspect they're one and the same, actually...slackerly student is just a cover for his true identity of media hack.

I need to go be real for a while -- dinner to be made, and I'm doing Billy again, but now I'm working on the 600 dpi scan. And keeping a detailed log, so that I can explain precisely how the restoration came about. As a TIFF, the big Kid comes in at 53MB, but the RIF, the native Painter format is almost half that. I have to get some poster-sized "BEFORES" printed, positive and negative. There is some very tantalizing stuff in that tintype.

Anyway, I'll drop back in late this evening, and hope to find some of you later on. It will be Monday morning for Looney by then; I hope he didn't celebrate the rugby win too hard.
