Well, besides ingenuity, it's possible to meet sentient creatures like supermarket bag boys who only react to conventional weaponry because they have little or no higher brain functions.

Affi is trustworthy, he just has ... poor impulse control. Which you will have gathered if you read your way through that thread (I look forward to our starting a new one when the expedition begins). His intelligence is so advanced that he jumps to conclusions that might make other people run screaming into the night. Garius is right up there with him but is a little more grounded. Affi is like Aquarius cubed.
