*pops back up, brandishing a chocolate-filled croissant*
Pain aux chocolat..and all mine. Mua ha ha.
*Twinkie the Sax Fairy trills, a bit dully*
Hey...has anyone fed Twink today?

Odradek (she who lurks, green Lifesaver-like) Posted Jun 18, 2000
Hmm. Twink is blue and tends to scatter about rather hallucinogenic fairy dust. And last l saw her she was on the llEM...Twink?
llEM? One of Bahb's mood juices, and a thimble, please.
*Diogenes stalks over, hops onto counter*
And a bowl of yogurt for Digi.
Are there any donuts left?

Night night, Barley...
*pawing around behind counter, looking for donut box*

Odradek (she who lurks, green Lifesaver-like) Posted Jun 18, 2000
*snags a honey donut from the box, breaks off a small chunk and, together with a thimble of mood juice, presents it to the flagging Twink.*
*Twink perks up immediately, scattering fairy dust, which Odra sweeps up as best she can, sneezing a bit.*
Sigh. Fairies...
What to do with the rest of the donut?
Pierrot? Wanna donut and some mood juice?
*parrot swoops down, accepts the offer, and bursts into a jazz medely*
Hmm. And Digi had yogurt...Ook, want anything? l'm heading out.
*Ook shakes head, ooking.*
'Kay, then, llEM, just an anti-insomnia Redbeard's Brew for me, and l'm off.

Odradek (she who lurks, green Lifesaver-like) Posted Jun 18, 2000
*wipes up last of fairy dust, gives Digi an affectionate scratch behind the ears, takes her mug of coffee and bids all a good night. Er. Morning. Whichever.*
Take care, kids...

Lonnytunes - Winter Is Here Posted Jun 18, 2000
Peirot and Lil I bear interesting news and a potential warning.
One of NZ's most famous birds, Maud the Takahe, is to be flown to a new home in Auckland, NZ.
The Conservation Department says Maud has contributed greatly to the endangered takahe parrot breeding programme over the years, having produced nine chicks from three different mates.
But the 15-year-old resident of Maud Island in the Marlborough Sounds nearly died earlier this year when she was attacked several times by younger females....
I think I need a lie down and a cup of birds nest soup.

*comes in through back door*
Good morning, Bluebottle!
*changes filters in IIEM while reviewing securicam*
Oh dear, not good.
*goes to message board*
A friendly reminder to our customers!
Please do not enter the area behind the counter; this is reserved for staff members, who are in charge of maintaining the IIEM, stocking donuts and pastries, launching forum threads and keeping this place a forum that everybody wants to visit.
The IIEM generates pastries and donuts as well as any drink you want, absent alcohol. The cold case to the side of the counter has other pastry specialties, such as my home-made mbougatses and Marvin's Kosher Brownies.
*orders self an A L Special from IIEM*
Sorry to start out in control freak mode, but we have Continuity to think about. Any patrons who haven't seen the Continuity page, check out http://www.h2g2.com/A351866 . We're trying to keep the place in good order for the real proprietor, Irving Washington. I would hate to see discontinuity drive down the popularity of this place on my watch.
*orders fruit and nuts for Ook and Pierrot, then settles down with the Sunday Observer*

Unless I missed a new forum, this place's a bit empty.
Could I get an anticoffee? Got two hours of sleep last night cause I'm a blinking insomniac, and ended up talking to Marv online at five in the morning watching the sun come up.
Kosher donuts? Didn't know. I can't resist.

Is there any tea left BB?
The thread is so short, it seems a shame to start a new one already. Will Bluebottle's workaround suffice? Did I say kosher donuts? I thoufght I said kosher brownies. But hey, kosher donuts is also an excellent idea.

Hi Lil, how're you doing? You did say Kosher brownies, but I couldn't believe that I'd not managed to make any Kosher donuts before now... I'm sure it would be possible...
Can I have some lemon tea?

lemon tea ---------> c[*]
Is there a rabbi about to perform the necessary action -- which has a formal name, what is it Io? Marvin blesses all his brownies, which is how I presume them to be kosher. But there's no reason why ALL your donuts shouldn't be kosher.
*chomps apple spice donut happily*

I guess not... Perhaps the donuts should be blessed...
ohh... I had the nicest chocolate brownie from Marks and Spencers the other day...mmmmm....
