probably not. It was just taking ages at this end to get anywhere. I noticed one or two other people also complaining.

Funnily enough, I was on at about 8:30pm last night from the house and I noticed Irving was online so I was franticlly trying to post a message to him, but it was taking forever so I logged off.
5 minutes later I got in and was about to post my message when I noticed that he had logged off!
The user count was only at 78. I think that one of the servers had gone down and so the remaining server was coping with the full load.
Normally the load is 'balanced' between the two. We have similar things here at w***

I was thinking more about the fact that I was failing to be able to run some maintenance on some web-sites i run on the side. I tend to log on to H2G2 when traffic is low like now (only 23 users)

Aaah! Comprehension Dawneth! I have just embarked on teaching myself HTML so that I can get my own website up and running, with a view of doing one for my dad's vineyard in Oz, and possibly one for my
In-Laws to promote their B&B. Still in the early stages unfortunately!

Keep at it. HTML is very easy to get to grips with. The only problem is that Netscape, MS et al don't always agree on things like CSS thus making a bit difficult to ensure that everyone who views your pages sees the same thing.

Hmmm, so I have been reading. I have been reading '.net' for the past couple of years, but just ignored the webpage stuff until last week when i decided to start reading up on it. There is lots of info, it is just trying to put it all in perspective. So I have decided to do it all the hard way, on 'Notepad', once I get a good understanding of HTML, then I may use one of the packages. But get the basics first, then play about with it!
