Hey, Affy. Have you seen Yar or Masque around? I saw them and a bunch of others go into the old back room around Halloween, and I don't think I ever saw them come out. I'm worried Masque might have... done something to them. Maybe he wasn't the best choice for a bartender

No, no I haven't seen anyone relating to those circumstances. Although I *did* get a weird message from Yar just before I left saying that he was probably going to be in the Stumped Arena and I have some data to back that up. I was just headin' there.

[Mog] [shrugs] Probably multi-thread continuity. Bet he's doing both and pretending one happened after the other.

[Mog] No, we've always done things that way.

Psh. If he's just pretending they took place at different times, he's underutilizing the laws of continuity.

I mean, consider way back in the pre-BBC days of h2g2. Quest to climb Mt. SandEverest. When the party split up, one to go through the mountain and one to climb up it, were people forced to pick a path? No, they just went through both threads. And when the two parties eventually met up again? You just had an extra copy. Came in real handy later on. It's an extra person to help carry stuff, and since it's "extra" they're just allowed to merge back into the original, whichever one the two of them decides that is.

Handy trick. Perfectly legal under the LoC, too, but few people care to deal with it like that.

I seem to remember an adventure thread where a much older version of me was discovered living in the wilderness somewhere, having to *actually make* the drinks IIEM has been spewing out (the theory being that an Infinite Improbability drive can pull drinks out of thin air, but has to pull them *from* somewhere and somewhen).

That's what I'm doing when I take these long hiatuses from hootoo, by the way. Catching up on drink orders

*After striking up the band and churning out Affy's Usual (which is quite, quite different from Mog's usual) the IIEM starts humming and whirring to make Santra's drink.*

Anyone want to help me name this new beverage? It prevents hangovers, and when combined with alcoholic beverages allows the imbiber to *feel* drunk without making a complete @$$ out of him or herself in front of the boss.
