/* Tumbles in, after pushing on the door for several minutes */

Ouch!

The behavior of h2g2 seems a little different, now. It goes slow for a while, then all of sudden starts moving.

/* rubs head */

Does anyone know why there are so many donkeys in front of the cafe hanging out and smoking? And why are there sheep in here?

/* Takes one of the pretzels that Irv put on the counter in September, decides it now will work better as an indestructable chew toy and gives it to Zeppo */

IIEM, a coffee please.

Hiya d'E!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with a bit of trouble... Not a particularly good start for the new hootoo. I for one would've expected better capacity now that BBC is responsible. How wrong one can be....

I don't think they've converted the software to something stable (i.e., non-Microsloth). There's always hope. And rumors abound that a scheme is in the works to get our pictures back.

The moderators work on the old forums is quite impressive. They are moving quickly, but it must be odd for them reading everything backwards. I see the snow castle is back.

I tried to post all these funny letters that I have on my keyboard. The ones with dots over them. It was impossible! But I had them before you-know-what. smiley - erm

h2g2 used to be on IIS/NT, but the BBC is one Solaris using a Apache.
Unfortunately, h2g2's special servers supplied by the BBc is still using IIS - horrible. It's why it's so slow and jumpy...
