SSO/Digibox entry: Suggestions Welcome...

Should have known better than working on anything during the half-term holidays...smiley - wahsmiley - wah
And of course to top it all, i managed to catch the flu which, thanks to a rather inhumane clause in the contract where i work at nights, is impossible to get rid of... I will certainly go to <./>AskH2G2</.> one of these days and start a thread about this incredible way back to slavery...smiley - steam

Anyway, this is not the reason for this thread...smiley - smiley so here we go:

The page has been kind of updated somehow, but i'm rather sure that i have muddled a few things along the way and would like to make sure, among other things, that the links are the way they were supposed to be [though i don't fancy going though more & etc..smiley - yikes]...

Any forgotten infos somewhere?!... If you post them here in a consumable fashion [as in: only needed to be cut and pasted] that would be great...smiley - ta

Not all the names of those who have contributed to the convos related to Digibox/SSO are listed _yet_... I'm aware of that and will deal with it as soon as i'm back <./>online</.> properly...

And some more threads/convos need to be listed... aware of that as well.. same than for the names...

Suggestions on how to make the instructions for the links more user friendly are very welcome as it might look a bit difficult to follow for some people...

Oh and i did say suggestions... _not_ criticisms...smiley - whistle i don't think my head could do with any kind of criticism at the moment...smiley - yikes But anything to polish the page is definitely welcome...smiley - smiley

I won't be able to be <./>online</.> tomorrow thanks to a 'training' session which i'm not supposed to miss...smiley - grr but should be _relatively_ available Saturday... I'm looking forward to read this thread then [smiley - biggrin]...

All the best everyone... talk soon...smiley - surfer

loup I am sorry that your not feeling well and I hope you will get better soon. I am down with it as well and that is with the flu jab.smiley - hug I am finding all this SSO going over my head.smiley - hug 4 years ago I would have been able to take it in alot more easier now, been away from computers too long.smiley - hug Last computer course I was on was nearly 5 years ago, forget most of what I was taught.smiley - hug Don't forget to take vitamin c tablets and zinc tablets they are very good for the immune system.smiley - hug

Poor Loup. smiley - sadface

Hmm... suggestions which aren't criticisms... that's a bit hard.

1. Don't do too much on things like this when you aren't feeling up to it. Whatever it turns out like it will probably have made you feel worse. smiley - yikes

2. If possible it would be better to reduce the size/number of sections since the primary audience is digibox users. Or do the upgraded people get to see more on their screens? smiley - bigeyes

3. Explicit suggestions had better wait till you feel up to them. But what percentage of digibox people do you guess are still completely locked out of the site? Are most still having *some* problems even after migrating their accounts? smiley - erm

Hi Loup!

First of all, get better soon!

Secondly, the entry is *brilliant*! Well done indeed! smiley - biggrin

Thirdly, after a read of the article as it is now, my only suggestion is to add a link to the thread where the code for the 'I survived SSO' badge is given - <./>F19585?thread=330242</.>!

Well done again. smiley - cheers

Hi everyone...smiley - smiley and thanks for the "get well" wishes...smiley - cheers

Kat... yep, vitamines are definitely on the menu... I was going to take some anyway as i noticed that this working nights business was running me down [one of the reasons i haven't been much active on h2g2 these last months]... the idea of taking that job was to give me more free time during the day... worked somehow regarding my mondays tutoring which i'm grateful for, but that's all... Obviously i'm going to have a lot of rest whenever possible these next days, but once i've got rid of this flu i will definitely try to get the best out of this working situation...smiley - smiley

And smiley - cheers for the advice...smiley - ta

Regarding the entry:

Rho... yep.. good idea...smiley - cool and i don't even have to look for the link, which is a bonus for me...smiley - biggrin

SEF... The suggestion about having shorter sections is definitely great.
I noticed that i could do without repeating the "add etc.." bit everytime... one explanation about it in the part about making the link from the validation email clickable would be more than enough [i also noticed that i actually didn't give the explanation in that part..smiley - yikes] and then i could list the solutions with the links like they are supposed to be typed for the digibox... that would shorten the sections a little bit and the informations will still be there...smiley - star

Might even make it easier for the Digibox Users to copy the links that way...smiley - cool

I did feel it was a bit "heavy" [or lengthy] somehow, so anything that makes the entry a bit more user friendly has to be welcome...smiley - ta

I will see what can be done around that tomorrow or Sunday...smiley - biggrin

I will also see if some of the beginning can be shortened a little as well...smiley - whistle

I can't stay <./>online</.> much more today but will be around a bit more tomorrow...

Talk soon everyone and smiley - cheers once again for the advices/suggestions...smiley - surfer
