Yes - I have now officially 100% Quit Law, and I have been told that the History Department have accepted my transfer. One curious thing, though, was that the History people said that the law department was unwilling to let me transfer - they wanted me to stay with law. Hmm - I didn't expect that.

But what you suggest sounds good - okay, I'll map something out. I'll think of something.

The police fan out, search the area, bag the glass on the floor and the spilled Guinness, say 'Carry on, folks' and leave.*
