I'm sorry - I didn't mean to imply that only regulars can have a smiley - ale - here, have a smiley - ale and a smiley - empty - you can drink either or both, whichever you prefer smiley - bigeyes
So, what was your job, and what are you going to do now?

Ahh! Thanks. I think I'll alternate. smiley - smiley

Well I've been working for a certain UK digital satellite broadcasting company. Doing technical stuff I'm not allowed to talk about in any great detail. Software development, vaguely speaking.

As for what's next, I'm going to do more teaching. (Right now I teach one week a month, but I'm going to increase that to twice.) I've also got a short term bit of work to do for some hi-tech medical startup in Cambridge. This is good - it's within walking distance of my house. The place I'm working at now (only a few hours to go!) is decidedly not - Brentford's a fair distance from Cambridge...

Teaching sounds good - a lot more interesting than doing, and it's nice to know you know more than those around you. smiley - winkeye
And DE, you are still a regular - you're an old regular - but your appearances are geeting to be irregular. STill, have a LARGE |_| from me. smiley - smiley

Teaching's great, although I try to keep a mixture of teaching and doing - otherwise you can find yourself in the situation where you don't in fact know more than those around you. smiley - sadface

Four times! How did you manage that? I didn't think the elections were until 5th May anyway...

Ormondroyd

The election date is the 4th of May, but for some reason they decided to have one polling station in every borough where you could vote early yesterday, today or tomorrow if you wanted to. I was passing one such polling station (Islington Town Hall) today, and just thought "why not?".
As for the four votes - well, there are two elections going on simultaneously. One to elect the Mayor, and one to elect the members of the new London Assembly. Rather confusingly, the two votes are being conducted under two different versions of Proportional Representation - but both of them offer the elector two votes.
Having explained that, I think I'll head for the (non-political) party myself! smiley - smiley
