OH Catflaps (pardon my french) I'd forgotten about that particular date when all the daffodillys disappear from the area. Don't actually mind visiting the old dear but the entire family circus that appears at this time..... Shudder...(pulls blankets over head)

And today it's Palm Sunday. I mean, don't even get me started talkign about the crass commercialism of Palm Sunday. Afterall, all you hear these days is Palm Sunday, Palm Sunday, Palm Sunday...

It's the last Sunday in Lent. The run up to Easter (biggest festival in the Christian calendar). This was the day the big J rode into Jerusalem on a colt/donkey with people throwing clothing and palms in the road to carpet his way. Serious contrast to what was going to happen on Good Friday (See The Passion of the Christ for more info on that).

Chocolate? I've given up the 
for Lent - but only another week to go until Easter. I've already been given one Happy Easter card. (From my Mum - does anyone else in the world send "Happy Easter" cards?!?!? But then I must confess I do send "Happy St. George's Day" cards, mainly because they sell the same one every year.)

I'm waiting for someone to say that the pagans celebrated the festival with choccie before the Christians did. Which of course they couldn't have as Choccie in Europe was a by-product of the Christian killing, maiming and stealing type exploitation of South America!

Is that critical as in 'you should never have come to England, you would have a better job in Colombo' Or critical as in these are the wealthy ones you have to impress ?
