Evening, Sorry about the poor service. I've been in London meeting some reaserchers in the flesh. Scary experience.

Cheers. It was really good fun putting faces to all the names. Everyone got on seemed to get on really well, it was just a shame I didn't get to talk with everyone. Peta and several others have got pictures so they will soon get posted. The best bit was that Peta had the H2G2 credit card and kept buying the drinks.

What h2g2 credit card??? I think I should have access to that next time I arrange to meet researchers in real life!

I think that's a great idea, all ACEs should have a company credit card with which to entertain other researchers!

I think Mark or Jim keep it under lock and key, this is probably the first time it has seen daylight in months.

At least until the next time there is another meet up I hope. Mark Moxon said he wanted the gatherings to be a little more frequent than two a year.

Well, I'll buy a for all who couldn't go.
For some reason, I knew menza@@e was menza@@e as soon as I saw him... He just appeared to be exactly how I thought he would - but the weird thing is I had not thought how he would appear...
Definately a weird experience.

Yes, I must admit that I have. I thought it was very good - but I prefer the Foundation novels, definately.

really. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the foudation novels emensely but I have found them to be over hyped, I much more enjoy his books that are not series. The gods themselves for example or bicentinal man.. I guss that one is part of the robot series, but I maintain that Asimov's genissus was in his short stories.
is Mensy aroud or are we on self serve again this afternoon?

*crawls out from behind the counter, blinks, sees there are people here and cheers up*
Right, C|_|'s all around, and a Guiness for me.
third - I have read most of Asimov's novels and some of his shorter fiction. I would have to agree that the non serial books seemed to be tighter. However, the Currents of Space, Pebble in the Sky, and *scratches head* I can't think of the third "Empire" novel were some of his best.
Foundation was great, I think the Robot series were better.
*drinks his Guiness and stares off*
