I think the clash with copyright is not with the word 'firkin' as such but with the specific use of '& Firkin' in the name of a pub or bar. Using the word in the name of an unrelated establishment (and without the & would probably not be a problem.
BTW, did you know that the firkin is used as a measure in the furniture removals industry? It represents the quantity (by weight or size) that can be carried by two people working together. So a single bed would be one firkin, but a large wardrobe which needed three people would be one and a half firkin. The system enables the estimator to specify the number of staff needed for a job.
Consequently, if there is a grand piano in the house, say, and the estimator puts it down as one and a half firkin, then about half an hour into the job the manager will get a call from the staff, saying "'Ere, boss, this piano's two firkin heavy."
Sorry - couldn't resist it.

Not really, just a few pints, but then i came home and played about here for a couple of hours and got to bed at 3am. Then I was back up at 8am, so, tired and slightly hungover. Ho hum.
So how's the new PC then? What did you go for. Go on, make me jealous I can take it.

Hmmmm, no brands eh?
this could be tricky.
Its a 1.2Ghz chip by "the other common PC chip manufacturer"
its got 256MB DDR memory
a "Live" 5.1 surround sound soundcard
with 5 point speaker system
and a very very good graphics card. (that one was too tricky)
a CD rewriter and a DVD drive.

Nice
*reaches for a to calm his nerves *
Enjoy it while it is still cutting edge.
*thinks of his current PC, which became obsolete within 1 month of buying, but then such is the nature of the market. Still plays a mean Q3 though , especially with his live!value & 4point+subwoofer soundsystem. The room literally rocks as the subsonics pass through my feet. Oh boy!*

*is jealous of both of you* I've got a completely pants sound system in my computer, it's a generic Yamaha sound card which barely manages stereo let alone surround sound.
I intend to buy a decent system as soon as I have the money...

Wood? You're lucky to have wood. All I've got is an empty paper bag, and if I make a noise by blowing it up and bursting it I won't be able to use it again.

A paper bag??! Luxury. In my day, we had to make do with clapping our hands. And I only had one hand...
