A Conversation for Haunted Houses
Jerome, Arizona

The best place in Arizona to experience ghost phenomena is Jerome. It's a litle mining town about 2 hours north of Phoenix, on the side of Cleopatra Mountain. The town of Jerome started its life as a booming copper mining town, but is now a tourist attraction thanks to all the tragedy that has plagued it.

I began going in the hopes to someday meet one of my favorite musicians that bought a house in the small town a whopping 351 people call home. While staying at the Jerome Grand Hotel (which is slightly reminiscent of the Bate's Motel), my friend and I were interrupted while trying to bathe ("it" decided the door should remain open), trapped in the elevator while it went through all four floors a total of 3 times before it finally let us off, and the room we stayed was so crowded by ghosts we couldn't sleep until dawn. The Grand began as a hotel for the town of Jerome, and for the most part is still original. I return to the town at least once every two months for the art galleries and awesome view alone, but the Grand still calls out for me to "drop by".
