There's no need for a vote. But if I have to justify my position..
I am English (or a limey in N. American parlance). I have been to London a few times, often... and I like it. (at least in the short doses I experienced so far). I can even tolerate going into a pub and settling for a pint of Directors'. I do not live within a 1000Km radius of the City. This makes retribution a transcontinental affair.
I can be planted randomly in the "theatre district" and find a good restaurant, eat, and find the tube station - needless of cheap tourist map. And without suffering too many skin abrasions.
I have some opinions.
I want POWER!

I rest, until my nomination is challenged.
Will there be an election? How shall one participate/influence this process?

I would like to cast my ballot for Mayor Dudemeister - as long as I can get a cushy job in the mayor's office after the election.....

You are the Advisor for Disinformation then. There is no vote yet so I am assuming we have to take control. Do what you must, or else... Make it so Mr. Advisor.
You shall have a nice "luxury-like" villa in Tooting and a 1978 anno domini rare vintage Vauxhall luxury estate car as a perk.

Shazz.....allow me to present a suggestion. I noticed that you have a voting booth set up, but you are still accepting nominations. Perhaps you should set up a specific deadline for the nominations, and then open up the voting booth......

I beg your pardon...they were NOT MY spelling errors. Talk to Bill Gates! I can't help it if his programs don't know an error when they see one!

I deliberately set my spellchecker for US English. In Canada people use one or the other, mix them up or hopefully use English English. I do this so that while (if) I run a spell check I can constantly disagree with it - correcting it. Human-Power!
