This is it. It was to gauge ideas of what folks wanted to do before I started organising something.

The early evening event on Friday is being run by Icy and looks like either the Marlborough, New Oxford Street and a meal, or a venue near Soho and a chinese meal.

The afternoon event looks as though it is going to be Kew Gardens with, numbers permitting smiley - yikes (only a small flat), a warm meal at Chez Moi, and then on to the evening event.

Hope that helps, but I will get 2Legs to put the official activities on the meet page when it is official.

Thanks MMF. I thought it was decided that we were going to Chinatown instead of the Marlborough Head. As it's not an area I know well, I was waiting for some recommendations for a pub & chinese restaurant. Happy to arrange, but I'd like venue suggestions.

Dear mazing mad Fiddler,

Have at last tracked this thread down. I do not know why is has beel so elusive.

My son and I would like to go to Kew please. I think that I had better try and meet you somewhere in the gardens as I do not know if the Kew bus can take a wheelchair. We intend to come out to Kew from London by train and would then go to Kew by taxi. I f I can persuade a friend to come with us then we might be able to drive to Kew from Sevenoaks. I do hope that this time it will be lucky.

thank you for doing all this.

Hi there, and well met.

If you get the train to Richmond, via Waterloo, the 65 smiley - bus (the stop is just across the road, adjacent to LLoyd's Bank, will take you directly to Kew, and the smiley - bus has a wheelchair ramp situated in the middle doors.

Do not go via Victoria Station because you have to change at Clapham Junction, which is not wheeelchair user-friendly.

Alternatively if you can get to Hammersmith Underground (Piccadilly and District) you can take the lift to the ground level. Leave Hammersmith shopping Mall, turning left into King's Road, and the first smiley - bus stop on the left. Take the 391 and, at the traffic lights in Kew Road where the smiley - bus turns left, get off of the smiley - bus there. I hope that helps, and if you need any other advice, I'll be only too happy to help.

Be good to see you.

I used to work in the Aldwych, which is about 15 minutes stroll from Sardina Street. As to good places there, I'm sorry, I cannot help. I have not been around that way for at least two years. I'm sure we can find somewhere. There will be a group of us, and I'm positive that the campany will be even more greatwer than the venue.

Well, It looks like Kew is the event. Can those who wish to attend send me an e-mail so I can send my mobile number to you.

Also those of you whose e-mail address I should have, can you also get in contact as my old Mac has had a hiccup, and your addresses are frozen on the hard drive.

This especially applies to Teuchter, so I can link with you for the Wednesday!

Thanks all!

Dear MMF,

Thank you so much for the details of the bus we must take. That was very useful.

I am not too sure of how to get hold of you. Websailor has my home telephone number and I was fortunate enough to meet h5ringer at the Barbican last week. However I do not know how to get hold of him.
What happens if it pours with rain? It might make it a bit difficult to tour Kew in a wheelchair!!. I want to phone them and see if have electric wheelchairs for hire.

I am really looking forward to it. Please do let us know where we must meet up with you.

With many thanks for all you are doing to arrange it.

Very sincerely,

Christiane (and K.) Ar1 smiley - schooloffish

smiley - ok Everyone.

It appears that Kew Gardens wins hands down so that is now the chosen afternoon venue for the Saturday

The list of attendees who have expressed an interest reads as follows:

Also-Ran1
Cynthesis
DavidB
DragonQueen
Evadne Cake
Galaxy Babe
Hypatia
Liquid Warrior
Phil
Teuchter
Trillian's Child
Venus
Wile E Quixote

Obviously anyone can just turn up.

Please contact me via e-mail for my Mobile Number.

I anticipate being at Costa's Coffee House, to the left of Richmond Railway station, at 11:00, and aiming to be at Kew Gardens, Victoria Gate, Kew Road, at 12:00.

I will see if I can arrange a meal at my flat for the late afternoon before heading to The Shakespeare's Head.

Due to numbers I'm unsure if my flat will cope with so many, but if you don't mind a tight squeeze, I'll arrange it.

Please let me know if you are vegetarian. It will probably be Chili-con-carne and vegetarian curry, for ease, as rice cooks quickly and I will have to prepare it the day before.

Any other queries please contact me and I'll help where I can.

smiley - cheers

And looking forward to seeing you all in 18 days time.

smiley - ok
