I am starting a thread for people who might be able to go to a meet in November, which I imagine will be a dismal failure because everybody else can make it in January. (Then again, you can go to both.)

Don't despair - The Derby meet on the 15th is being attended bu at least one ne'er do well from London who is easily persuaded to perform escort duties...
Though trusting yourself to my company is a little...risky.
Othrwise Novemeber is a cruddy month for me. I'm busy on ythe 1st, 15th, and 29th, and the due to being out on the 9th and 10th, the 8th is bad, leaving me only the 22nd for Saturday purposes.
Having said that, if you are in London on the 8th/9th November, I'm sure a small party can be put together. Also, if you want to see a small portion of 'alternative' London, then the 9th is fixed to bare a days shopping in (not) Sunny Camden followed by stupid dancing to absurdly loud music, and I'm sure you are more than welcome to join the trip if you want.

I can probably do most weekends - as you are far too young for the pub we can have the first non-alchoholic meet in starbucks and I can bring young J.

The Brum-mini-meet's 2nd Nov (for the official "over-the-hill" celebrations of little old me) and Oxford's he weekend after - you could actually spend every weekend from now until nodnoL Winter Meet in the commpany of fellow researchers if we can get our act together over december

Anyway I might not be in England at all, my parents change their mind every two mintues about what's happening, so I don't have a bloody clue. But cheers to all the kind people who are...being kind.
