Hello PoleKitten and a very warm welcome to Peer Review!

What a great entry! (and sure to go down well with the boys around here)smiley - devil

Just a couple of comments on the entry style: remove the first header (the title serves as the first header) and everywhere you have used double-quotes, house-style is single quotes.

Where you have written about getting bruises you have a word in capitals (sorry, I've forgotten it and I can't go back or I'll lose this post) but it should be in bruise (for example) instead of capitals.smiley - smiley

You can have a browse through the <./>writing-guidelines</.> if you likesmiley - biggrin

Other than that, great entrysmiley - okwell done smiley - diva

yeay, intresting entry.

I'm not an expert on the subject meself, however I have a couple of suggestions for just tiding up the spelling and grammer.

... much more mainstream, safer and acceptible to the public ---> acceptable

... more recently women have become alot more confident ---> a lot

the most common question regarding Pole Fitness ---> The most

They are deisgned to be a fun ---> designed

car rallys and other --> rallies

the only diffrence is that instead ---> difference

classes in burlsque dancing and/or striptease---> burlesque

("Mrs Henderson Presents") ---> (Mrs. Henderson Presents</I&gtsmiley - winkeye

(film titles go in italics)

with these corrections and a few edits suggested by GB to get everything into house style, I can see this getting into the edited guide.

oh, and welcome to H2G2

I second that, welcome and great job!

I don't have time to look at this now, but on a very brief scan it looks good!

By the way, I'm at the University of York and we have a Pole Exercise club here; I think it's the first of it's kind. smiley - smiley

This is indeed a very good entry, but parts of it are lifted directly from Wikipedia and http://www.pole-play.co.uk/ You'll need to re-write these parts if it is to progress further than PR.

Cheers! Made all those modifications. The bits extracted from www.pole-play.co.uk are in there because I wrote them! Guess I should probably modify them though. I probably lifted some from wikipedia to use on the website so I'll take a look. smiley - smiley

Yes, I did presume that from your nickname smiley - smiley However, for the edited guide it does need to be original work that doesn't appear anywhere else, so you will have to at least re-phrase those parts. The part that appears on Wikipedia (I think it's just the first section) will need to be changed so that it is clearly different to the source page.

Hope this helps smiley - goodluck

Mikey the Humming Mouse - A3938628 Learn More About the Edited Guide!

Doesn't look like it -- the author doesn't appear to have been around on h2g2 for a couple of months. Has the issue with wordage coming from Wikipedia been addressed? If so, I think it's pickable -- but if not, we should think about moving this out of Peer Review.

smiley - cheers
