OK heres one for you, It's present giving time here at the moment, last week we were given a large box (10kilo) of oranges sent straight from the grower directly and just now a friendly neighbour came to give us half a watermelon,

Woah! Hold the press, and front page!
.
I have just seen the cutest sight of the first of this years baby Blue Tits which are actually all yellow mainly. All three in their fluffy cuteness were lined up on the fence with tiny wings flapping for food and chirping while the lone parent looked bedraggeld chasing around for small soft bugs for them.
What a lovely sight on a wet, chilly and dull morning!

Eagle, the great thing about nature is you need neither a great interest or knowledge to enjoy it. A cut baby bird is a cute baby bird whatever it is.
Perhaps it is the human instinct we have to think babie, small pupies, kittens are cute.
A country walk is enjoyable even if don't know the name of trees, I certainly don't for most.

How right you are! Since been bothered by the early morning woodpecker (who seems to have moved on) and seeing woodpeckers and other birds dicussed here, I've become more bird-conscious and geeting more enjoyment from seeing them

Oh very much a hobby!
I am no expert, just enjoy watching and learning about the habbits of even common birds as there is always something new, perhaps more so about common birds than rarer ones as common birds are adapting to urban life more and more as Englands countryside disapears.

Well didn't buy any jeans, howevr I saw something fly past my window in a flash and had a look and saw two Swifts pass only six feet above my lawn!
They came back time and time again doing aerobatics so I went into my garden and noticed them briefly touch the gutter area on roof and fly off, presumabley finding bugs to eat, what a fantastic sight!

It is a lovely morning so went to more charity shops looking for cheap jeans to turn into sawn off shorts but couldn't find any in right size, sadly. However I sat in local park for an hour or so in sunshine which was nice!
The weekend is said to be nice so will do something on Saturday down by river which should be nice in sunshine, I think they have some sort of mini open air play which should hopefully be enjoyable. Nothing like a bit of freshair culture. As it is free if I don't go or get all panicky and leave before endI won't have lost anything. I have bought a ticket for a poetry thing next month which as is only £3 if I don't go I won't have lost too much. It is indoors and a bit confined so will be a big test.
.
There is also a comedy thing in a similar place but as I am likely to have to sit away from main seating area due to getting panicky I am likely to be the but of a joke which will make it ten times worse so will give commedy night thing a miss!

I know what you mean about being panicky in crowded enclosed spaces. I am definitely happier outdoors - I even get miserable if I have to spend time inside my own house if the weather is bad.
You made me smile by saying 'sawn-off' shorts I think you mean 'cut-off' - but you can use a saw on them if you want a really frayed edge look
The weather is even warm up here today.

Yep I went for the frayed look. To be honest it is as much laziness as liking the look. It has that casual look for just hanging around in, or 'Trogging about' as we used to call it when kids.
It sure is warm today and with just a bit of wind to cool it down. I have slapped on the suntan lotion though as easy to get burn as early in year. I am using this new fangled clear gell stuff, a bit expensive to use forever though I think!

That's nice, I just looked out my window and realised the young Great Spotted Woodpecker from tree trunk nest in my garden has come back for first time since it left nest several weeks ago!
I believe it might be a male as has a fairly large red cap on top of head. The male adult, its dad, turned up several minutes later after the youngster had quite an awkward and stumbly bath in my waterbowl.
I have missed the family since they left and it was really lovely to see them again. Although I played no part in them being raised, well apart from providing the waterbowl, I did at least keep their nest secret and not raise attention to nest and endanger them by telling everyone who lives here.

It isn't just egg thieves, last year some idiots here put out bread and milk for a young jay that was perfectly fine and being looked after well by its mother. It would have been even better off if my stupid neighbours hadn't picked the young Jay and stopped its mother feeding it proper food of soft bugs by trying to give it bread and milk......

That is what idiots put out for hedgehogs!!!!
They would have been better off putting out dog or cat food!!!
