Sorry Shazz
I don't know what you are on about. I take it that the establishment are about to take away Pluto's planetary status. Not heard anything along those lines. Do explain. vegiman

There is a nasty rumour that the big wigs of Astronomy are all set to de-classify the Planet Pluto to a boring old Asteroid!!The arguement is that it is only a lump of rock caught up in the gravitational pull of Neptune..with a somewhat erratic orbit.Unfortunately for them I guess that ALL planets are caught up in a gravitational pull of some sort!!! We must stop this insanity before they decide to declassify any more of the minor planets...or ( even worse ) some major ones LOL

That is just what I'm trying to do...maybe I need to write in capitals to get more attention LOL (Laughs Out Loud) )
ps..wher can I get one of those yummy little smiley faces?

Know you weren't asking me but since I just learned the smiley trick I am dying to pass it on to someone new. just type for a regular smiley or for a winking one or for a wide eyed one or for sad. You get the picture. It is also how to make fish . Doesn't work on home page text but will on postings. Hope I helped. Have a good one and let me know what I can do about Pluto it is one of my favorite planets besides someday some alien scientist might decide Earth was not really a planet either and try to "declassify" us!!! Sandwich Maker: The trick is to leave a space after each character when explaing how to do it on a forum or all you get is smiley faces.
: - ) will give you
I'm off to bed now to find out how to do the rest - they are explained on my home page

Sorry about my poor information. In trying to be useful, my blondeness crept up on me. There I go perpetuating those myths again. Glad Vegiman could straighten it out.

Did you read the entry on the solar system yet? Pluto is actually a binary planet with it's sibling Charon. Do we get to save charon too?
Something the entry didn't mention is the fact that Neptune and Pluto/Charon "wobble" in their orbits, signifying the existence of at least one further undiscovered planet. And it'll have to be a pretty substantial planet as well, going by the size of the wobble.
The creatures did a song in which Ms. Sioux invites us all to go to Pluto. Perhaps this could be your campaigns anthem.

Now there's a good idea I did know about the wobble ..thats why I put in about the erratic orbit...sometimes it's planet 9 & sometimes Planet 8..and yes I have seen the discussion about Charon (soft spot for that..close to my real name LOL )..someone actually mentioned the threat to Pluto over there..without mentioning my page

Any suggestions for the name of the as-yet undiscovered planet?
Does it have to be a name from the Roman pantheon? We've got enough of those.

They may not know the existence of your page Shazz, like the unknown planet.
I would have thought that another planets existence was unlikely. The sophisticated equipment they use these days would have pin pointed its where-abouts and detected it with some form of telescope by now.
That is of course if its desity is not so high that light cannot escape its gravity. Our own local Blackhole. Just a thought. vegiman

According to DNA a tenth planet does exist, or at least does in the Guide, called Rupert. But then, who believes in the guide? It is after all, wildy inaccurate

Well there IS something out there exerting one hell of a gravitational punch, hence the wobble. It's probably the place where all the biros, lighters, plectrums, keys and policemen when we need them end up at.

It must be a wormhole in the fabric of the space-time continuum then. Leading to the planet where all the lost biros live. This would explain a lot.
And, by the way, if you look at http://www.h2g2.com/P72316 and follow the link there, you will find lots and lots of smileys. Sadly, only 5 work on h2g2.

No it shouldn't! Maybe we should go Welsh...Beddgelert is a reasonable name Or there again there are too few named after the culture of the sub-continents!! How about Ganesh??

YEAH! I like the idea of a name from the Welsh pantheon, being half-Boyo myself! How about Manawydan, Rhiannon, Blodeuedd or Arawn?
