Something I understand they share with Group C funnily enough.
I wonder if it is true that all of Group A deny the holocaust mind, or is that juist another of your sweeping generalisations about Group A?

Oh, I've no doubt it's one of my sweeping generalisations again
I'll go and stand in the naughty corner after writing out 100 lines, "Only Socialists get to generalise"

It is one of the fringe benefits we get. That and the automatic possession of any and all high ground.

Well said that man. But it leads one to wonder that others, without the benefit of his enforced study period, might believe the Holocaust never happened.
It just shows that the touchstones of Western history are not universally accepted. By the man in the street, this is perhaps understandable. But for world leaders and religious mouthpieces to knowingly spout denial is, IMO, evil.

Another commentary on Holocaust denial.

Unless of course the LA Times appears on a sh!tlist of dodgy sites who can't be trusted.

That's quite an interesting look at it. I suppose if we hadn't been informed of it at souch a young age than maybe the murder of 6 million people would seem too outlandish to be true to us too?

When did people here learn of the Holocaust? I certainly didn't get taught anything about it at school and I can't actually recall when or where I learned of it.
Is it now part of the curriculum?

I learnt it as part of GCSE History I think. I've definately been aware of it for a long time.

I can clearly remember watching documentaries shown on TV from a very young age. The earliest one I remember was "Auchwitz - the final Solution'. All sorts of documentaies are still regularly shown I'm very pleased to say, and long may they continue to be shown. I found the 10 hour film 'Shoah' which is shown from time to time on TV very instructive in that it features many interviews conducted with Polish villagers in the vicinity of Auchwitz in the 1980s as well as interviews with contemporary Nazis.

Seeing as we're sort of on the topic, I would like to plug A2875368, something I regard as possibly my finest entry
Ok, back to the debate in hand

My father worked for the Home Office during the war. His mother was a Jewess.
Whilst I don't remember where I first heard the word holocaust, the older Jewish community was talking about murder and persecution of the Jews in Europe when I was a little boy. (1960s)

Anyone seen this...

---------
Police seeking a man over the murder of Pc Sharon Beshenivsky are considering the theory he may have fled the UK dressed as a veiled Muslim woman.
---------
When you actually read the article - for all they actually know he might just have easily escaped the UK dressed in a big red cloak wearing a long white beard accompanied by several reindeer!
Why the hell do they print this rubbish!

"Why the hell do they print this rubbish!"
Because it suits any pre-concieved notions that their readers have and/or suits their own particular agenda.
I'm sorry, was that a trick question?

Holocaust.
Didn't do it for GCSE History (can't remember what we did do, mind), but it was covered as part of RS and I'm sure we did WWII pre-GCSE.
