Phantasy Phootball - Euro 2004 special
GreyDesk Posted Mar 19, 2004
Well surely the strategy will be bid £48million for Henry, Gerrard, Raul and a reasonable goalkeeper. Then offer buttons for minor players from weaker countries who'll, one, not get a game and two, be going home at the end of the group phase
Or will there be something in place to stop that sort of thing happening?

11 other managers?
And the fact that you have to have 11 players in your team.
And the fact that Alfredo, as league Chair, will impose minimum prices on players.

It's only the same as what I'm doing.

I don't recall there being minimum prices on the players. Or maybe I just bid too high when I set my 'team' up

Try reading the page to which this thread is attached:...
"The League, however, has the right to place a fixed minimum (reserve) price on any player."

Another option I'm considering is a straight league table and the bottom manager at the end of each round leaves the tournament....that makes their players available for transfer again and the remaining players have to ensure they have a team of eleven players who are still in the tournament up until the q-finals...then teams can play shorthanded as the transfer window will be closed

That's a bit unfair to Psycorp...
Sorry. I mean to whichever manager finishes last.
I don't see any problems with running it as a straight league.

Hey! I've not been last since the two latecomers joined.

I think B has a point...keep it simple. I'll run it as a straight league. I think we should allow transfers up until the end of the group stage though.

Yeah, I wouldn't argue with that.
