I know I've written this in first person, but I wanted people to get my personal view on Simon & Garfunkel. I hope it's satisfactory.

Whilst I share your sentiments on S&G I'm afraid you've mistaken the purpose of Peer Review.

You could re-write this as an assesment of their works, or a reveiw of the album 'Tales from New York' either way all personal references have to be removed.

As a by the by Paul Simon is VERY insistant that all the songs are his own compositions not collaborative efforts, with the exception of the developed folk songs like El Condor Passa, and Parsley, Sage Rosemary and Thyme, etc.

Keep writing, Keep listening. smiley - cheers

Whilst opinion pieces aren't suitable for the edited guide, they are suitable for the underguide. So the right people can find this entry try placing it in Writing-Alternative, a review forum just for this.

Have fun writing! smiley - ok

I Love Queen

I never said that all the songs were joint compositions. I am fully aware that Paul Simon wrote about 99% of the songs, but before they were famous most of their work was jointly composed. If you don't believe me, have a look at "Two Can Dream Alone", a before-they-were-famous Simon & Garfunkel album.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

Regardless of any discussion about who wrote what, this entry really isn't suitable for the Edited Guide because it fails more than one of the Writing-Guidelines, and if it's not right for the EG, it needs to be removed from Peer Review unless you want to rewrite in such a way that it meets the guidelines smiley - smiley

Given that Paul Simon was Jerry Landis, Paul Kane, True Taylor and Tico, whilst Art was Tom Graph and Artie Graph, which songs are dual credited apart from The Girl for Me and Hey teenager ?

Paul also did a lot of work as The Cosines which was him and Carole King, but I wasn't trying to pick holes, or throw knowledge at you - I didn't bother to write up anything on S&G, I was just trying to help things along.

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

I love the title to this entry! smiley - smiley

Unfortunately, as others have said above, in this form it *isn't* suitable for the Edited Guide. If you were to re-write it in the third person, I'm sure you it could become suitable for the EG. It would be helpful to have something about S&G's career and their development, with a discography and maybe some links. It looks like there are people who would be willing to make suggestions to help with this, ILQ.

If you decide you *don't* want to make changes, then I would suggest taking it out of Peer Review and submitting it to the Writing-Alternative.
