Lahmahcun Have you ever been to any of those little Turkish places along or just off Kingsland High Road and the bottom end of Stoke Newington High St? There used to be a couple of real good ones on... Dalston Lane? No, Shacklewell Lane.

No need - the best Turkish restaurants in Northern Europe are just round the corner from me... on Green Lanes between Harringay Green Lanes station (Harringay Stadium as was <sad> and St Ann's Road.

ZF seems to have abandoned this entry.
Yes, they are still around on h2g2 (last posted 6 days ago) but have not posted to this thread in the entire time it has been in PR, and that is over 4 months.
Propose a move to the Flea Market. Not so much because the entry is top stuff but more because there are some interesting comments in the PR thread.

After much deliberation and pangs of guilt over my unfinished Uni project, I have decided to give this a go.
If you are still subscribed and in the least bit interested, what would be helpful is:
Examples of regional variations of pizza.
Suggestions on where to get a good pizza in different parts of the world.
A few ideas for topping combinations.
I've already made a note of existing edited entries about pizzerias.
Thanks in advance, and know that I will be very generous with co-author credit.

In researching this, I've found a list of most popular toppings around the world that claims in England the most popular toppings are tuna and corn. Is this true? I found another that said chicken was tops in the UK, this seems more likely. Help?

It wouldn't surprise me. Barbarians. My Italian ex was fond of pointing out that chicken should NEVER go on a real pizza...

A real pizza, of course, according to the pizza snobs must have a thin crust, and be stone-baked in a wood-fired oven. Or as near to this as you can find in your locality (which was a lot easier in London than it is in Somerset, I can tell you). Isn't there a sort of schism in the pizza world between American and Italian-style pizzas?
Thinks off the top of the head - popular classic pizza toppings... Quattro Stagioni (Four Seasons - can never remember what the four ingredients are though), Quattro Stagioni (Four Cheeses), Veneziana (part of the cost of your pizza goes to the fund to stop Venice sinking), Fiorentina (comes from Florence and I know there's an egg involved).
Then there's the Calzone, which is made in the normal way and then the base is folded over so the topping's all on the inside and it's almost like a pizza sandwich or pastie.
Mmmm, pizza
Can you tell it's nearly lunchtime here?

And I've been mentally planning my grocery trip for this weekend while writing this.
