I've worked on this a while now, but think I need some feedback. It could be understandable, but as I've never studied economics academically I may have misunderstood some of the concepts .
Also open to suggestions on grammar formatting and so forth - and how it could mesh better with the Prisoners' Dilemma entry, which covers some of the same ground.

From all that I could see, not having been exposed to the subject previously, this is a well-written and concise description of what I am sure is a complex subject.
In otherwords, a fine entry!

I agree. An interesting and approachable introduction to game theory, which as far as I can see - I don't have any academic background in the subject either - is also factually accurate. And thank you for having the taste and good sense to link to my Prisoner's Dilemma article.
Your section on PD is well-written, btw. My first thought, was that it might make more sense to incorporate that section into the existing PD article rather than having it as part of this one - it's maybe a bit confusing having it here under a different heading, and also there's a fair bit of repetition. On the other hand, of course, you are approaching the subject from a different perspective - more mathematical, less philosophical - and, besides, updates take such a long time around here that it's probably more practical anyway just to leave it as it is...
re: your intro... something like, "This short piece will hopefully provide the basics of what Game Theory is, who developed it and why, and what problems it has helped economists and mathematicians to understand," would be more specific.
Oh yes, and it's usually written Prisoner's Dilemma, rather than Prisoners' Dilemma (because the focus is on the separate, discrete, dilemma of each individual prisoner).

Well, I can't see anything wrong with it.
the only thing I can suggest adding is a mention to the section in the star trek novel "federation" where the enterprise and the enterprise D are both in a black hole, and they can either save themselves or save both of them (classic prisoners dilema) but based on the sort of person who gets the job decide to trust the other captain to make the same choice which will save both.
It isn't required however.
I would be happy if a scout picked it "as is". to go any further would mean doubling the size of the article, which would probably be better off in a seperate article.

Thanks for commenting (and favourably at that) xyroth
Not read any star trek novels, so for me it would seem an obscure mention. Grateful for the suggestion, but I agree it isn't key to the entry, being a rephrasing of the problem already stated.

(maybe Atlantic Cable would start a new series of entries (to follow on from his computer ones - Real Mathematics in Science Fiction, on TV, in Films etc. )

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

A disappointing lack of unofficial congratulation (compared with other entries) This must have slipped past while not just myself was on a beach
Never mind. It's been picked for me
