Okay here's my entry on MIDI itself to accompany my other entry on Midi Files. I wasn't too sure about the bit about the continuation for the future of midi. Any ideas there are welcome. Oh and I can go into more technical detail on MIDI about data transmission speeds if necessary. smiley - smiley

A lot of high end equipment seems to be getting usb connectors on the front, which can also be used as a midi control connection.

the roland XV5050 springs to mind, but is by no means unusual.

That would seem a sensible thing to add so I shall add that.

Looks pretty good, just one minor niggle:

Penultimate paragraph:
"This allows a greater ease in connecting the synthesiser to your computer, due to the USB ports commonplace feature of USB ports."

Should this read "due to USB posts being a commonplace feature on up to date PCs"?

I can't believe I made such a silly error. But still when you're rushing it all out in one night such things happen. It's now been corrected however. Hope the new version sounds okay. :D

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

This is of course great news. However I've just had a bit of a think about things and I've been thinking that a link in the guide could be changed, as the link on synthesisers only links to analogue synths and I was thinking of creating an article on the synthesiser in general. And from that I intend to link to Analogue and Digital synthesisers.

If you let me know what changes you wanted made, I can make them as I edit the entry.
