As I said, though, it was broadcast as a special. John Nathan-Turner's intention may well have been for it to become a series - he was, after all, pitching ideas for new series all the time in the hope of moving off Doctor Who and onto something else - but that was not the basis on which it was shown, and as it didn't lead to a series, 'special' is as accurate a term as you can get without going too far into unnecessary trivia.
As an aside, I think it's just sympomatic of the fan desire to cling to any peck of optimism that this could ever be classed as a 'series' in any form. It's just like the 1996 movie. While everyone who worked on it hoped it would lead to a series, most 'pilots' don't actually get broadcast - they're only shown to the executives. A way to cheat this is to make a one-off and hope it gets enough interest for someone to suggest it continues in serial form.
Sidetracking too much - sorry. Any final comments on any other aspects of this?

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Looks good. Could you add a link to Androids in the first paragraph? It's not editted but it is being editted just now. Thanks.

Hi AC,
the Androids entry is not yet edited, but I've added the link nevertheless. I've got to fill in the correct entry number once the androids entry is picked and sent over to me, the same applies to the links at the end of the entries, though...

yeah, sorry that must be a right pain. My own fault for writing such a huge series of entries I suppose.

Oh, that sounds worse than it actually is. It's just a matter of cut and paste. What I wanted to say that I could send back finished entries only when the whole project is finished.
I mentioned it in case you wondered why nothing happens once I declare the entries as 'finished'...

Oh yes. I'm familiar with the editorial process. I'm a patient person. Let's face it with my slow internet connection I have to be.
