I *think* this article explains everything in it etc. Can anyone think I need to improve anything/ explain better?

Well I just wanted to check - having played Warhammer for 5 or 6 years now I understand the stuff I've put in the article but I wasn't sure if I had explained it for people who don't have prior knowledge!

Skenvoy,

That is really good. Since I don't play warhammer ( I never even got into D&D or the role playing books) I thought it was perfectly clear and concise.

I did pick up on 1 spelling mistake in the where to play section.

You wrote Local hooby stores , which should read hobby stores I believe.

Apart from that a good piece smiley - ok

smiley - cheers Thanks for pointing that out... I had something else there originally and then I changed it to hobby stores after I'd cecked it for spellings so it got missed!

It is a good start to an entry. It is written with enthusiasm for the subject which is something I always like. However there are some flaws in your approach.

The main problem is that you're assuming an amount of prior knowledge about the game, or similar games. Now I'm guessing here, I think the game is fantasy game similar to D&D (ie lots of dice) but done with models rather than characters described on paper. It isn't actually described to me anywhere in the entry.

The how to play section needs to be fleshed out. It is currently throwing a lot of quick facts and methods of play at me, without explaining any of them in any detail. It could also do with describing how long a game takes to play and whether there are variants to make the game longer or shorter. Also how many people can play it at once.

smiley - ok I've started to make the modifications you've suggested... however, i don't know how clear the How to Play section now is...

I'm just gonna add something to the end of the how to play bit - currently it ends rather abruptly. Anything else that needs improving?

One typo though

"Attacks - the number of attacks a model can made in hand to hand combat"

Should read;

"Attacks - the number of attacks a model can make in hand to hand combat"

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences

"you cannot have mixed units, a unit would consist of all bowmen, or all pikemen etc. with a few exeptions)."

Are the exception few enough that it would be feasable to explain them?

"To play Warhammer it is essential that you have a copy of the rulebook, a copy of your armies army book,"

Should be "a copy of your army's army book".

Apart from that smiley - ok

Well there are probably a few exceptions I don't know about and I only know of two off hand (I'd probably remember more if I really thought about it). However, I think it'd be going into too much detail about some armies etc. to explain them... do you think I should put in an exmaple?

Oh and smiley - cheers for pointing out the army book bit.

I think you should really mention some of the spinoffs such as the computer games ,especially Dark Omen.

I dunno... I could include it, but the article itself is focusing on the table top game... I guess I could change the title to the Warhammer 40,000 section and have the section about other things to do with it (Warhammer 40k and the computer games)...
