"I blame Mel Gibson." [GodBen]
Well, you'll have to wait in a long, long line, GodBen.
And considering how mad some folks are at Mel, there may be precious little left of him by the time you get to the front of the line.
When Mel shoots himself in the foot, he leaves a crater as wide as the Grand Canyon.

Hi, Susanne. I'm starting to write a song: "The I'm-glad-I'm-not=Mel-Gibson Rag" . It's in my journal.

Very good! If I had to name the actor I like least, it would definately be Mel Gibson. Although Adam Sandler comes a close second place...

Oh come on, Mel was great in the original Mad Max. He was quite good in that conspiracy theory film too. He's just gone a bit crazy recently

I don't hate Mel, I'm just very, very disappointed in him. He needs to
deal with his personal demons, and not let them loose on the rest of usa.
I don't hate Tom Cruise, I just wish he would stop making movies so I wouldn't see him in previews for other films when I go to a movie.
Adam Sandler? I thought I was the only one who found him unimpressive.

Yes... Apocalypto? Wow! I thought, this film looks awesome! oh... it says 'Mel Gibsons' above it... and suddenly I'm gritting my teeth and feeling irritated... What a shame. Mad Max, Lethal Weapon... It started so well, why oh why did it have to go so horribly wrong? There's nothing like an 'I'm great' complex to ruin one's image!

Mel's imaghe is the least of his troubles. Alcoholism is progressive, with the ultimate destination a miserable death .

This is true... I am torn a little between pity and feeling for the tragedy he is living and feeling that when people are given all they need to live comfortably, when all basic needs are cared for, we adopt new problems. Artificial problems like chronic mental health disorders, dependecies, religions... ok, religion will be contentious in there. I intend religion as a tool for power and giving belief to the unbelieving needy as opposed to religion which is a form of archetypal storytelling which allows the unexplained to be explained and certain moral and principle abstracts to be passed on down generations.

i know what you mean. . . it also just seems a little overly egotistical to direct a movie AND star in it (cough braveheart cough).
plus his face bothers me.

Ut probably *is& egotistical to direct a movie and star in it.
How many times has Mel done that? Once, twice, thrice? Now, count
how many times Clint Eastwood and Woody Allen have directed themselves in movies....
When he was younger, Mel's face was fairly agreeable.
He's older now. Most of us get less atractive after 50.

I'm sure there's just as much plagiarism as ever, it's just that there is no longer very much that's worth plagiarizing, so people assume it's just more ho-hum stuff that's boringly original.
