Ookpiks (or Ukpik, or uppik in Inuktitut).... http://www.ookpik.org/

Not to be confused with:
Ikpik: steep edge of a mesa
eqalukpik : Arctic char (or salmon, depending, I think, on the dialect or the pronunciation)
kakpik: needlecase
oqpik: willow

I just took another wander past the Community Art Requests page http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/RF22 (where our Community Art Request continues to languish unnoticedsmiley - erm) and I noticed that they say that photographs are not allowed. Does anyone understand what is happening in Europe? I get the impression that the Euro-Bureaucracy is about to take all the fun out of cyberspace. It seems that private communications interests are lobbying to dismantle all websites run by 'national' public broadcasters. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F99028?thread=602960&post=6672151#p6672151 ~jwf~

Holy Cr@p!

I find it interesting (read: scary) that the EU and the US view "public broadcasting" as either undermining society or as somehow "getting a free ride".

I am speechless..... Which, of course, is just what they want.
