Sho - employed again! Posted May 20, 2006
oh I like it
what I spotted:
under Col Blake
It was been suggested that McLean Stevenson had got fed up with most of the jokes going to Alan Alda's character. - change to: It has been suggested that McLean Stevenson was not happy that most of the jokes were going to Alan Alda's character.
Under Hawkeye
Hawkeye is a brilliant thoracic surgeon and was the camp's head doctor, much to the annoyance of Major Burns. - this suggests he's the best at treating heads, is that the case or do you mean senior surgon?
there's also a massive spoiler in that section for the final ep (that's the one about the chicken making a noise, right?) It's been a while since I saw it, but I think it's quite a giveaway.
Under Frank Burns
It was from Frank and Margaret's pitiful attempts at talking dirty that Margaret got her nickname of Hot Lips. - was that from the film or the series? (the two have blurred into one in my little mind)
Burns' ability as a doctor were limited at best and was the butt of jokes - should be: Burns' ability as a doctor were limited at best and were the butt of jokes...
When she got married, Frank went to Seoul and went mad - "she" is Hot Lips? It's not clear since the previous sentence was about Larry Linville.
Under Radar
Radar was the young company clerk from a farm in Iowa. - this makes it sound as though he's the company clerk for the farm! how about: Radar who came rom a farm in Iowa was the young company clerk.
In Stargate SG-1, the sergeant who sits in the control room and has a slight nack for anticipating orders is called Walter. - oh... if you really like, you could link to the Stargate entry here... A765597
Under BJ
He was been a notable in supporting the right of abortion - should be: He has been a notable in supporting the right to abortion.
Under Potter
Potter originally joined the army as a 17 year old in the Cavalry. After the war he became a surgeon and served various - after which war? (WWII?)
Under Winchester
When Frank was transferred back to America, Potter made the Winchester's ... - should be: When Frank was transferred back to America, Potter made Winchester's ...
Stiers' rich voice has been heard in a lot of Disney movies. - any chance of letting us know which ones, and which characters (Winchester is my 2nd favourite character, which is a propos of nothing)
I've run out of time (thank goodness, you say!) but I'd like to add:
there is a problem with tenses through the entire piece. Having worked on an entry about a TV show I know how hard it is. However, my feeling would be to stick to past tense when mentioning the show. In fact, you should probably stick to the past tense throughout the entry except when mentioning what some of the actors are up to now.
I would leave out the awards and instead mention in the introduction that the show received many awards and many more nominations.
But oh my, this is lovely and comprehensive and I can't wait to see it on the FP.
PS. Was Miss Piggy somehow based on Hot Lips? I've always had that impression for some reason.

Margaret was given her nickname "Hotlips" in the Film, after Hawkeye and Trapper hid a microphone in her tent and broadcast their "Dirty Talking" to the Camp

I do remember Loretta Switt doing an impression of Miss Piggy on the Muppet Show, possibly on Pigs in Space

NuclearConfusion -Not a lot of money in the revenge business Posted Jun 12, 2006
Hey. I read this piece a few days ago, and thought about bumping it up for the scouts.
Almost brought tears to my eyes. I've always loved MASH.
Covered so many big issues of the day, but didn't sacrifice storytelling to do so.
*lays out scout bait*
