In my opinion Tim McInnerny's ability to transform what is essentialy an uninteresting role into the genius that is 'Darling' is superb, even better than Melchet in parts of Blackadder goes forth which is a very tricky act to follow. But then I have to agree that Stephen in the end comes out on top.

Stephen Fry is good but I'm afraid I'm biased.
Tim McInnerny is absolutely fantastic as both Percy and Darling and I don't think he gets the appreciation he deserves. Everyone in Blackadder are good as they need each other to be how they are but Tim's flamboyance as Percy and Squint as Darling are unbeatable

In the Cavalier years, as a hooded blackadder as the exectutioner was asking King Charles (Frye) for a gratuity to kill him quickly, Charles takes some money from his purse and quips, "I'm sorry, I thought service was included..." - hilarious!

I agree with Mrs Percy...Tim is the most underated actor in the series. His delivery is perfect. The crowning scene must be when he entertained Lord and Lady Blackadder. Priceless !

have to say some of the classics lines that stephen has in the series are fantastic. "Your cammanding officer would have to stark staring mad to refuse" "Well YOU are my commanding officer" etc
