Bloggfalley, thats a new word.

Have absolutely no idea what it means, but it sounds suitably pointless. smiley - winkeye

Sorry for that piece of useless drivel, I haven't posted anything for a while, and needed to say something. Don't worry I'll go back in time and put something much better when I think of it smiley - biggrin

I'll join, i'd like to be "Controller of Controllers", and then we can have people who are the controllers of each millenium.

We-ll, the society isn't about controling really, it's more about travelling, which is anything but controled. How about observer of observers or something like that? I'll stick you in a s a plain "traveller" for now until we sort out your actual position.

You have to keep a certain level of control or you will end up with paradoxes left right and centre. Controller is like the temporal equivalent of the police, as long as nothing goes wrong, they have very little to do, but once someone starts messing around with time, they jump in and strand them in medival times and shout that their a witch before jumping back through the portal.

Well, Tango, I'm still not certain about the "controler" thing, sounds a little power-mad, which is not what the society is about at all (otherwise I'd call myself "grand high supreme TimeLord ruler of every era" or something similar) How about you call yourself (and the rest of your Time Police Force) The Monitors?

You can most certainly join, Chronos, I'll stick your name in the list imideately. Is there a specific role you want?

Tango, you've twisted my arm. OK then, you are the Society's Temporal Inspector. We're quite small at the moment, so we'll just have one... for now.

BTW, have you read "End of Eternity", i think it's by Issac Asimov, but i'm not sure. It's a great book about time travel.

"Here you are, http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/F121195?thread=266951&skip=20&show=20#p3504432 , you could also use this shortcut http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A1056962 " Still pulling on the heap of cables desperate to get the cables free. <>

*shrugs*

*Picks up connector. the cable trails ater him. Goes into one of the doors with a blank lintle. There is darkness inside the door, as soon as The Chairman is through, it is imposible to see what is happening.*

*an eletric blue light flashes out for a second, it's broight rays radiating form the door as a blast of freezing air gusts out.*

* The cable can no longer be seen. The bright blue light fades to orrange, the wind dies and The Chairman comes out of the door again, kicking sand off his boots.*

Well, that's it connected

I really should get a society engraver to do this for me.

rooftiler - back again, for another bit at least

Hello,

This is what I've dreamed of, to be a fully paid-up smiley - 2cents , card- er, I mean, towel-carrying smiley - towel time travelling smiley - scientist type bod. (I see myself mostly in the Peter Cushing mould, with a hint of Doc Brown and a smidgen of Sylvester McCoy)

Please please please smiley - grovel may I join?

If the post is suitable, could I be Researcher of Paradoxes smiley - doctorsmiley - doctor or perhaps Paradoxical Researcher? If so, I hope to look into the twin smiley - cdouble paradox first of all.

No time like the present!

rooftiler

PS the Roof is a cunningly disguised space-time map I stole from Randall & Co the last time they tried to raid Monty Python space.
