I've got the third book. And I've cracked the code.
Though knowing whats in the code spoils the book a little, so if you're thinking of it I suggest reading the book before trying the code.
'Tis interesting. And we finally get to learn Butler's first name.

Have you got a letter Q for the first one?

Can't remember. Chucked the notes I made. I think that was a full alphabrt for the code in the first book. I think there's a few letters unused in the lastest book.

Hi i am a great fan of artemis series. I found the third book better than the first two. It had a similar style to the "last action hero" arnolds movie. I cracked the cover page code it says" The Boy is in trouble" and he is in a big one believe me in this third book.
Have a great time reading this book, waiting for the "wish list"(4th book)

Sorry to burst your bubble but the wish list isnt an Arty Fowl book. It's about a girl who dies. I've got it. It's DAMN GOOD.

Many people seem to be making that confusion. 'The Wish List' was written and published before the first Artemis Fowl book. But following the incredible success of the Arty Fowl books, it got re-packed and re-published in order to try to cash in on Mr Colfer's new-found popularity.
It seems to have worked.

hi
i have read the eternity code and i have tried to go over the code over and over again and have gotten no clues. Can someone please give me any tips or clues on how to crack the code.

Have you got the hardback or the paperback version?
I have the hardback, and I compared the spine of the book with the spine of the dust cover. That gave me a good starting point, as the dust cover is in english, but the book spine was in the code.
I don't think Colfer gives any clues in the story this time, so that makes it hard to crack.

Bit late I know, but the title page or the dedication or somewhere (can't remember exactly, and I borrowed it out the library) has a short passage in English which is then replicated in the code. Gives you a few letters headstart. Then it's a case of writing it down and guessing filler letters to fit.

Oh yeah, the new book. I guess this page needs a bit of an update. I mean, I wrote it before Eternity Code was published, so it probably looks a bit dated now.
Not got around to getting Opal Deception yet, though. Have you read it? Is it any good?

It's not as good as Eternity Code.
As may be surmised from the title, it involves Opal Koboi. Who I was convinced was called Obal, but I guess I just misread it. My favourite so far is definitly Eternity Code [Chips and Pex rule], but Opal Deception is still worth reading. It has Gnommish along the bottom - surely that's as good a reason as any to read it!
Have you read "The Supernaturalists"?

Geggs Posted Dec 16, 2005
No, I remember seeing it about, but I never got around to reading it. What's it like?

Good. There are many names that turn up in both the Artemis Fowl books and it, that's why I brought it up.

Geggs Posted Dec 16, 2005
Really? Is that the same characters turning up, or just the names doing double service for different characters?
