Sorry to split hairs, but it is spelled "melktert", being a milk tart. Made from milk, flour, sugar, eggs and vanilla, it can be either crusted or crustless and dusted on top with ground cinnamon. When in SA, do eat melktert and biltong - they are both delicious!
