The first photo gives you an idea of how the loose stones churned their way into the bank and the width. The second, where it wore away the side of the path. The third where the concrete now ends, which stretched further across the gap. The fourth where some of the stones in that gap were washed up on the bank, just after the weir. Lastly, the roots of the nearby tree exposed and dug under by the churning motion of the stones, carried by the water or lifted out and over them.
