Video: Snipe in Moss

A snipe in moss

Recently I went to RSPB Burton Mere with the aim of trying to find a snipe (a brown wading bird with a long beak). I expected merely to be able to see one in a distant pool, so I was very impressed that one showed up in a patch of moss much closer to where I was sitting. It was fascinating seeing it scratching an itch, and probing the moss with its long beak. Here is my video footage.
