my grampa was a freemason and i think it's good that you cleared up some misconceptions. however I still believe rolled up pant legs are PURE EVIL, or at least unconfortable

rolled up pant legs are essential to stopping young boys going blind as well you know, young feller-me-lad. Masons are still sinister though but not as scary as evangelists - the eyes, the eyes!!!!!

As I think I mentioned, there is a good reason for the candidate in the degree ceremonies having a knee bared. Ritual taken out of context, can easily appear silly, but in context, it conveys meaning.
