January and February are when the shops seem to have the best sales as they're trying to get rid of winter inventory so they can fill up with spring stuff. AAAArrrrrrggggh! I'm NOT a shopper, but sometimes the deals are just too tempting. So I don't go shopping. At all. Unless I really NEED something, and then I leave the card at home and take along just the amount of cash I'm prepared to spend. It forces me to manage myself.

Ah yes
Shops are bad. What you should do is stay out of them unless you need to buy food or soap or rubber bands. If you don't go into shops, you will find it remarkably difficult to spend money on a load of old rubbish. Then, eventually, society will collapse and you will be forced to eat the beetroot that you grow in a secluded corner of your local park. People will not have money any more, they will just use pickled vegetables as barter tokens. Soon hordes of goths, huns and anyone else who fancies some will sweep across Europe, hacking at everything in their path with crude lathes made from recycled tube trains.
See. Told you. You should have bought that bloody White Stripes CD after all.

Who needs to buy rubber bands? They come wrapped round all sorts of goods - just re-use them.

Well done. You see if you had avoided buying that we would be back to watching goats attack primitive agriculture for entertainment. That is actually a good album, though. Have you heard De Stijl? It is even rougher than White Blood Cells.

I've heard it, but haven't bought it yet.
I didn't know there was such a thing as primitive agriculture.... a dandelion, perhaps? Personally, I've only ever seen a goat attack my own clothing, which wasn't very entertaining at all..... for me, that is.
