A Conversation for Spiritualism
silent prayer

may seem unusual? We had silent prayer as part of Sunday service in a number of churches I went to - all seemingly mainstream CofE. I think it's a pretty common practice, though it isn't announced as such in every service.

I think the author meant that the preacher is also silent, sie doesn´t even lead the gathering. But what do I know, I´m just a lowly sub?

That's what I meant too.
The minister would lead a number of standard prayers, and then allow a few minutes at the end of them for people to pray silently on matters that are close to them personally.

fair enough then - I rest my hat, outside the ring...
/ to the other side of the room to watch if the author steps up next to solve this...

Hardly time to get home and log on before you are all reading, my entry. Thanks for taking the time to read it.
I must be going to all the churches. Most of the services I go in my own Baptist, Methodist, and C of E barly leave enough time at the end of the spoken prayrs to think.
That said: The silent prayer I am describing, is more about using the love of the universe, to heal those who need it. Its not relying on the spirit of love to do so alone. In my terms it is called absent healing.
Does this give you the answer?
