Violets took on a very significant political undertone in France because Napoleon Bonaparte associayed violets with significant events in his life. When he was in exile in Elba, his supporters wore badges of violet colour with the motto "He will come again n the Spring" rather in the same way that in UK supporters of the Jacobite cause drank their secret toast to "The King", passing the wine glass over a bowl of water as they did so.`
However, Napoleon was fated not to end his life in France and after the Battle of Waterloo, was sent farther afield to end his life on a remote island, St Helena. before leaving his native land forever he laid a wreath of violets upon the grave of his ex wife Josephine, whom he had loved greatly but divorced her so that he could have an heir with his second wife, Marie Louise of Austria

Are verses from cartoons and pop songs plagiarism? I've got two quite good ones but one is from animaniacs, and the other is an aqua tune.

I think the mods allows for a certain amoutnof quotes etc. I think it's safe so long as you clearly label them as such and don't try to pass them off as your own.
