What about this new planet they've discovered?
Oh, and thanx for naming your guide entry after me, I'm rather flattered

Some friends and I were debating this... basically we came to the conclusion that by any self-consistant description of a planet then if you include Pluto, then you must include Sedna... So overall the most consistent conclusion is to discount pluto as a planet.

A lot of people at all levels are discussin it at the moment.
if you include pluto, there are at least 1,000 more similar objects including quoar and sedna. if you don't, it makes it somewhat akward in another way.
the general opinion forming at the moment is that pluto will end up being declassified as a planet, but that it will be delayed until we know enough about these other objects to come up with a clear definition which will include the other known planets but not these other objects.
