Along with white and male, you also have to be a Christian don't you? Though wasn't Kennedy a Catholic?

Yes, Kennedy was a Catholic, but aren't Catholics christians?

And married too, I believe, though there may have been exceptions to that one.

Yes, Catholics are Christians (in fact, Anglicanism is just a branch of Catholicism smiley - winkeye). My point was merely that whilst you have to be Christian, there's /some/ flexibility in your denominations.

And yes, I think Luc is right - they were all married (with children?) weren't they?

I don't know about the children, but they were all married...some more than once while in office.

OK these facts are true but do not disqualify anyone else from being PResident whop is not. But point taken I did say White and Male but I could not have included all the exclusions that exist.

Maleness and Whiteness are the two big ones as about than 75%-80% of the US population have therefore not had a representative who is exactly like themselves physically. smiley - smiley

Huh? These are probably as important as white maleness.
And *surely* you're not suggesting that it's okay that all presidents have been Christian because America has a majority of Christians, whereas the only reason it's a problem that they've all been male is that there are plenty of females in the country?!?

James Buchanan, the 15th President, right before Abraham Lincoln, is the only President to have remained a life-long bachelor. His neice served as First Lady for his single term in office. Strong rumours exist, with some compelling evidence to support them, that suggest that he may have been gay, as well.

Why is there any need for a First Lady, if the President has no wife? And what if the President does eventually happen to be a woman?????

Come to think of it, why does one need a First Lady anyway? (Or is it an unofficial thing?)

What about the people that are running for PRESIDENT who are not native born americans. John Mc Cain was born in the Panama Canal Zone -- Interesting? I like John McC -- but its interesting to see what the experts will say.
