The film 'The battle of Britain' was filmed in about 1968 or 1969. It was shwon on TV a few months ago. It was filmed on the derelict site of hawkinge Aerodrome which was RAF Hawkinge until 1961. Hawkinge is a village approx. 3 miles north of Folkestone in SE Kent. The film also features a pub called The Jackdaw, which is located in Denton a tiny village about 10 mins up the A260 from Hawkinge. From the outside the pub looks almost identical to how it did in the film and inside you can find photographs taken when the film was being shot. living in Hawkinge and working at The Jackdaw I am bias when I say that it's really interesting! But never mind! It's always exciting to see a place you know so well on the telly.
