Great article.
It may be worth mentioning that Watchmen can only really work as a graphic novel rather than a straight forward book or novel. For a comic it is unusual that it does not have any speed/movement lines apart from one rare occasion.This makes each frame like a photo. The layout of each page is based on a 3 x 3 grid which is used for great effect showing the parallel pirate story and some important links. This is far too big an area of Watchmen to discuss here.
